Spring Virus, Silent Watcher Edits, and a Lisa Jewell Thriller | Author Diary, March 6, 2026

A slower week thanks to a spring virus. I worked through edits on The Silent Watcher and read Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell, a gripping psychological thriller.

This week’s been a quieter one as I’ve been under the weather with a spring virus.

Even so, I’ve been working through the edits for The Silent Watcher, making progress on polishing the manuscript.

I’ve also been doing some reading and picked up Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell, which was a gripping psychological thriller.

Not the most energetic week, but still moving things forward behind the scenes.

🎶 Admin Catch-Up & Nine Inch Nails Live! | Author Diary – June 20, 2025 📚✨

This week was admin-heavy, but the highlight was seeing Nine Inch Nails live in Manchester. A powerful set filled with early tracks—and good news, my back held up! Hoping to dive back into writing soon.

This week was mostly spent on admin tasks—the essential but less exciting side of the author life. From scheduling to organising releases, it’s been a practical sort of week.

The highlight, though, was seeing Nine Inch Nails live in Manchester! It was an incredible show with a set packed full of early album tracks—intense, loud, and absolutely brilliant.

Best of all, my back held up, so I’m hoping that means I’m finally over the worst of it and can get back into the writing groove soon.

⚔️ Forged in Blood Released, Free Guild Shorts & What I’m Watching | Author Diary – April 4, 2025 📚✨

Forged in Blood is out now! This week’s diary includes free Guild of Assassins short stories, available to download, plus thoughts on watching the intense Netflix drama Adolescence.

This week, I’m excited to announce that Forged in Blood is now available! It’s always a great feeling getting a new book out into the world.

I’ve also been working on some new Guild of Assassins short stories, which are now available to download for free at joncronshaw.com/guildassassin. If you’re enjoying the series, these are a great way to dig deeper into the world.

On the viewing front, I watched Adolescence on Netflix—a gritty, intense drama that I highly recommend if you’re in the mood for something powerful and thought-provoking.

Thanks as always for following along!
