🐉 Fighting Through SAD & Nostalgic Movie Nights | Author Diary, November 14, 2025 🎬📚

This week, I talk about writing through SAD, hitting 50k words on Churchill’s Dragons, finishing House of Cards, and revisiting classic movies with my son like Brewster’s Millions.

This week’s been tough—I’ve been struggling with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), which has made writing harder than usual.

Still, I’ve kept pushing forward with Churchill’s Dragons (RAF Dragon Corps, Book 2), and I’m now at around 50,000 words into the draft.

To switch off, I finally finished watching House of Cards on Netflix… and honestly, it didn’t quite land for me.

So I decided to dig out the DVD player and introduce my son to some classic films, starting with Brewster’s Millions. A much-needed hit of nostalgia.

👑 New Series Begins: Ravenglass Guardians | Author Diary, July 11, 2025 📚✨

This week, I began work on my new seven-book nobledark fantasy series about the Guardians in the Ravenglass Universe, reaching 25% of Book 1. Plus, I share why I’m focusing on shorter, 60k-word novels.

This week, I’ve dived into my new series set in the Ravenglass Universe, focusing on the Guardians—a seven-novel, nobledark fantasy exploring the different paths within the order. I’ve written the first six chapters of Book 1, putting me at 25% of the draft already.

I also reflect on my shift toward writing more 60,000-word novels, similar in length to the Guild of Assassins books. This feels like the sweet spot for the kinds of focused, intense stories I want to tell going forward. Exciting times ahead!

🏰 Nearing the End of The Ravenglass Throne & Adjusting My Schedule | Author Diary – February 14, 2025 📚✨

This week has been a lighter one, as I’ve mostly been resting after a big push on Book 11 of The Ravenglass Throne over the weekend.

Now, I’m onto the final novella in the series—the last stretch is in sight!

I’ve also been reading The 10 Cent Plague, a fascinating history of comic books in America.

It’s been a great read, full of insight into the cultural impact and controversies surrounding comics.

On the scheduling side, I realised I miscalculated my timeline—I originally planned to have Book 12 finished by February 22, but I didn’t account for my son’s half-term break.

So, I’m pushing my deadline back a week to give myself more breathing room.

Looking forward to the final push on The Ravenglass Throne!

🏰 Closing in on The Ravenglass Throne Book 9 & A New Idea for Guild of Assassins | Author Diary – January 31, 2025 📚✨

This week, I’ve been pushing forward with Book 9 of The Ravenglass Throne—I’m just three chapters away from finishing my first draft!

The end is in sight, and I’m excited to bring this part of the story to a close.

Despite my focus on The Ravenglass Throne, inspiration struck for Guild of Assassins book 4, and I couldn’t resist writing the first chapter.

But for now, I need to rein myself in and stay on track with The Ravenglass Throne!

In terms of reading, I’ve been making my way through Crown, Cloak and Dagger, which delves into the British royal family’s connections with secret intelligence. It’s fascinating and definitely great story fuel.

Looking forward to wrapping up The Ravenglass Throne Book 9 and sharing more updates soon!
