This week, I talk about early signs of SAD, working on thriller projects, planning my next fantasy book, and whatโs coming soon to Patreon. Feeling the early autumn blues but pushing forward.
This weekโs been a bit of a struggleโI talk about feeling off and wondering if Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) has kicked in earlier than usual.
It usually hits me in November, but with autumn feeling like it arrived early, the dip may have too.
Creatively, Iโve been working on thriller projects and thinking ahead to my next fantasy book.
Iโm torn between starting Ravenglass Guardians Book 3 or working on RAF Dragon Corps Book 2โboth exciting in their own ways.
I also share whatโs coming up soon on Patreon, with exclusive content and early chapters for supporters.
This week, I closed my paid Substack to focus on Patreon, continued working on thrillers, and reviewed the audiobooks for The Ravenglass Throne and Undead Anarchy.
This week, Iโve made the decision to close my paid Substack and focus fully on Patreon as the central hub for my writing, early releases, and community.
It feels like the right move to streamline things and better serve my readers.
On the writing front, Iโve continued working on my psychological thrillers, while also reviewing the audiobook editions of The Ravenglass Throne and Undead Anarchy (Punks Versus Zombies, Book 2).
Lots going on behind the scenes as I keep building stories across genres!
This week, I focused on admin tasks ahead of Severed Bonds (Ravenglass Throne Part 3) launching May 19, and the Patreon audio release of Book 4. Looking forward to getting back to writing soon!
This weekโs been all about the behind-the-scenes workโthe less glamorous side of being an author. Iโve been deep in admin, getting everything in place for the release of Severed Bonds (The Ravenglass Throne, Part Three) on May 19, and preparing the audio edition of Book 4 for my Patreon supporters.
Itโs been a week of formatting, uploading, scheduling, and ticking boxesโbut not much creative work. Iโm itching to get back to actual writing and into the worlds that excite me.
Thanks for bearing with me during the admin grindโstories are coming soon!
I’ve finished *The Ravenglass Throne* series! With all 12 books complete, I’m reflecting on what’s next and taking stock of my open projects. I also discuss *The Fourth Turning is Here* and how shifting societal trends impact storytelling. #FantasyWriting
This week marks a major milestoneโIโve finished book 12 of The Ravenglass Throne, meaning the entire series is now complete!
Now, itโs a waiting game for the edits to come back, but the hard work of drafting is done.
With The Ravenglass Throne wrapped up, Iโve been reflecting on whatโs next.
I need to take stock of my open projects and decide which one excites me the most before diving in.
There are plenty of ideas pulling at my attention, so itโs all about choosing the right one.
I also discuss The Fourth Turning is Here, a thought-provoking book that explores generational cycles and societal shifts.
Itโs made me think about how weโre in the midst of a zeitgeist shift, and what that means for the stories people will connect with most in the years ahead.
Exciting times aheadโboth in my writing and in the changing landscape of storytelling!
This week has been a lighter one, as Iโve mostly been resting after a big push on Book 11 of The Ravenglass Throne over the weekend.
Now, Iโm onto the final novella in the seriesโthe last stretch is in sight!
Iโve also been reading The 10 Cent Plague, a fascinating history of comic books in America.
Itโs been a great read, full of insight into the cultural impact and controversies surrounding comics.
On the scheduling side, I realised I miscalculated my timelineโI originally planned to have Book 12 finished by February 22, but I didnโt account for my sonโs half-term break.
So, Iโm pushing my deadline back a week to give myself more breathing room.
