It’s been a bumper week on Patreon. A free Halloween story, an early ebook and seven new chapters across three serials. Here’s what went up.
Someone’s at the Door – Free Halloween Story
Short horror | Free for everyone
Your doorbell sees everyone who comes to your house. It records them. It never sleeps.
Someone’s at the Door explores the creepy side of smart doorbell technology. It’s a public post, so anyone can read it, no membership needed. If you like your horror short and unsettling, you might also enjoy I’m Not Allowed Past Dudley and Host.
Five of Swords – Advance Copy Ebook
Ravenglass Chronicles | Paid members
Paid members can now download the complete Five of Swords ebook ahead of its release. If you’d rather read the whole book in one go than chapter by chapter, this is your chance.
I wrapped up the draft back in July, and talked about it in my July 17 author diary.
Six of Swords – Chapters 18 to 20
Ravenglass Chronicles | Epic fantasy and political intrigue | Paid members
Empress Kat has outlawed slavery, but her enemies aren’t done fighting her reforms. Three more chapters this week, and the cost of doing the right thing keeps rising.
Like the rest of the series, the book takes its name from the tarot. The Six of Swords follows on from the Five, which makes this a good week to have both.
The Waywarden – Chapters 9 to 11
A Waywarden Chronicles prequel | Nobledark fantasy and wilderness mystery | Free members
A nobleman has vanished on the border between Ostreich and Molotok, and Waywarden Arnwulf doesn’t believe the official story. He and his opinionated wyvern, Varyn, push deeper into the wilderness this week.
These chapters are open to free members, so all you need is a free Patreon account. Catch up on where the story started in last week’s update.
Clout Maxxing – Chapter 4
British LitRPG | System apocalypse and dark satire | Paid members
Dave and Liam are still trying to reach Wolverhampton. The System is still making that as difficult as possible. Chapter 4 is up now.
I explained where this odd little project came from in my October 16 diary.
